Pray the Psalms: Psalm 1
"Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither — whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction." (Psalm 1)
God how blessed we are that you are a God of giving. That you watch over us as your children. You say blessed are those who walk in your ways, who meditate on your Word and who delight in your Word of life.
Like a tree that is planted by water, that flourishes and produces fruit, we are so thankful of your work in planting us there through Christ. Like a tree, we hear the singing of your praises from the birds, feel the sun shining on us filling us with joy, and the streaming water that provides nourishment and a peace that only you can give.
Your Words to us are compassionate and overflowing with grace. We need your constant help to walk in your ways according to your will. We need your constant steadfast help in meditating on your Holy Word.
We need your help and you give it! You gave us the Word in the flesh of Jesus. The Savior and King. Jesus you bled and died so that we would not remain in the desert but be planted in your living flowing water. You have given us the Holy Spirit to guide and to lead us as we meditate on your Word and as we live each day in this life. Holy Spirit burn within us a passion for the Word, a longing for the Word of life.
Grant to us an unexplainable joy in this life as we long for you and meditate on your characteristics and the Words you have given to us. We thank you through Christ for planting us by the flowing streams of living water and rooting us in your faithfulness.
Because of all of this, you God are to be praised and receive all glory and for that we are truly blessed.
Amen.
